Origami is a traditional Japanese art of paper folding. It started in the 17th century and was popularized outside Japan in the mid 1900’s

I’ve tried origami many times myself and failed miserably; but it’s probably because it’s not my favorite thing to do, however I do find it rather interesting. Origami can be very complex and fiddly and many different little creatures and shapes can be made by different series of folds.

It’s really interesting looking at how this has been translated into clothing and thinking about how I could also do so in my designs.
